William T. Gleason - age: 99
(January 11, 1913 to July 15, 2012 ) Resident of Norwalk, Connecticut Visitation Information: A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, July 18, 10 AM at St. Matthew Church, 216 Scribner Ave., Norwalk. Burial with full military honors will follow at St. Mary Cemetery, Norwalk. There are no visiting hours and donations in Bill’s name may be made to St. Matthew Church. Obituary: William T. “Bill” Gleason, age 99, of Norwalk, died peacefully at the Norwalk Hospital on Sunday, July 15, 2012. He was the loving husband for 56 years of Betty Jane Newell Gleason. Bill was born in Bridgeport on January 11, 1913, the son of the late John and Mary Pohorness Gleason, and has lived in Norwalk for all of his life. He was a veteran of WW II serving in the U.S. Army in the European Theater. He was retired from the State of CT where he had worked in the signs and marking division. Bill was an avid stamp collector and member of the Norwalk Stamp Club. He was a quiet man who was deeply religious and loved to travel. In addition to his wife Betty Jane, Bill is survived by his daughter Sharon Carl of Dundee, IL, his granddaughter Emily Carl Muhlbach and her husband Peter, and many nieces and nephews.
