Christopher Lee Binkowski - age: 60
(March 31, 1950 to December 15, 2010 ) Resident of Hamden, Connecticut Visitation Information: The family will have a private viewing at the Magner Funeral Home, 12 Mott Avenue, Norwalk. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at a later date. Donations may be sent to Hamden Health Care Center, 1270 Sherman Avenue, Hamden, CT 06514. Obituary: Christopher “Chris” Binkowski died on December 15, 2010 in Hamden, Connecticut after a long illness. He was born on March 31,1950 in Chicago, Illinois and was the son of the late Benedict F. Binkowski and the late Jane Sharon Bing. The family moved to Norwalk in 1952. He attended Tracey School, Nathan Hale, Central Catholic and graduated from Norwalk High School in 1968 where he was very active on the track team. Chris remained quadriplegic from a swimming accident in 1971 and bore his condition with great heroism for nearly forty years. He was deeply grateful for the exquisite care and friendship he received at the Hamden Health Care Center, Hamden, Ct., where he lived for many years until his death. He was an inspiration to his family and friends and was compassionate and wise beyond his years. He enjoyed fishing, movies, reading, telling stories and making people laugh. He is survived by his siblings Richard Owen Binkowski of Tempe, AZ, Catherine Sharon Bing of Norwalk and Mark Thomas Binkowski of New Haven. He leaves behind many loving nieces and nephews and his cousins Paul, Lee, Sharon, Michael, Stephen, Matthew and Timothy Hefferan.
